Dovedale Valley
The Dovedale Valley
A 15-minute drive takes you to the Dovedale Valley with the famous Dovedale stepping stones. A car park at the foot of the walk makes travelling to this stunning part of the peak district easy and accessible.
In the wooded ravine, besides the stepping stones, there are two caves known as the Dove Holes. Dovedale’s other attractions include rock pillars such as Ilam Rock, Viator’s Bridge and the limestone features Lovers’ Leap and Reynard’s Cave.
The National Trust has an Ilam Park to Dovedale Stepping Stones walking trail which covers many of the landmarks and scenic highlights of the White Peak area including Thorpe Cloud, 1,000-year-old Saxon crosses and varied wildlife.
